If you have Dish you have OLN, but you won't get the NHL until this is
settled. Tuned in to get the Montreal-Boston game Tuesday and got a
bunch of fat cowboys making sausage instead.
OLN is trying to broaden their base by squeezing the providers with the
threat of withholding the NHL broadcasts, yet the market is too thin to
make a difference.
Just like last year, it's the fans who get screwed.

ESPN must really be scared of OLN. ESPN paid big bucks for Monday Night
Football, paid big bucks for a new baseball contract, and looks like they
will be getting the rights to NASCAR. They paid or will pay a high price
for all this to supposedly keep them off of OLN. I would love to see OLN
take the fight to ESPN. ESPN has been the big fish in the pond for too
long. |

But it's the NEW AND IMPROVED NHL! Is there actually a difference? I
can't tell because I don't watch. |

The OLN Tour de France coverage is really excellent isn't it? I'm not a
bike racing fan but I stumbled on the OLN Tour broadcast in 2004 and got
hooked. Cant wait for 2006. |

Whats going on with OLN on DirecTV anyway? The signal on transponder 24 is
suddenly weakened and below the threshold where I can hold a signal.
Admittedly I am in a fringe area (Canada) but something must have happened
to the footprint of this transponder.

I hope the thing is resolved before Oct. 27th, when the 2006 TdF route
announcement is scheduled to be shown. (I'm switching to DTV, but it
won't be installed til the 31st.) DTV still has OLN . . . doesn't it?! |

Yep OLN is Channel 608. I can see this stampeding too many people
from DISH in waves- Survivor catch up fans, Hockey fans, and Cycling
fans.
