satellite (tv) customer. I get only cable internet but have satellite
for television. The cable company wants me to subscribe to cable TV
in order to get a discount on my cable internet (it is acually cheaper
to get basic cable tv + internet rather than just internet by itself).
For $5 more a month I can get a HDTV cable box for my HDTV compatible
television which is what I want to do.
I have 4 lines coming in from my triple LNB dish. right now they all
connect directly to their perspective systems through the built in
multiswitch on the LNB.
1 Bedroom standard tuner
1 Bedroom standard tuner
2 Livingroom dual tuner tivo system (living room has 2 lines coming
from hub in the master bedroom).
My purchase plans:
1 Terk BMS-58 5x8 multiswitch
2 Terk BDS-P1Diplexer for DBS
I plan to connect the 4 satellite signals and one cable signal to the
5x8 switch. I also plan on resplitting the signal back at one of the
two satellite endpoints with the diplexer. Also, if necessary I will
also use another diplexer for my cable internet.
Will this plan work as laid out or will I have problems with
interference/distortion?

It should work, but to be on the safe side, I'd run a separate cable
system. |
