ITV1 & 2 are now FTA (Free To Air) on Digital satellite from Astra 28.2
East.

My brother's just confirmed that he's picking up the FTA signals nice and
clearly on a 120cm dish in Mittersill (Salzburg Province) Austria. Footy
tonight on ITV1, he's dead chuffed. :-)

All of them. It has regional variations (including for adverts)
and the Sky boxes are too dumb to do split/merges that often.

There are about two dozen geographically-based "real" ITV1s, as well
as Grampian, STV (2), UTV and Channel; there are also a few
Gxx-numbered channels which I haven't had the opportunity to identify
yet.

It does make you realise how much attention they paid to regionalization of
their adverts.

Still one advantage of satellite is that I can now get the correct regional
version.

Thanks for that, I had no problem setting up ITV1 and ITV2 in Frankfurt,
Germany.

Interestingly, I added ITV1 W Country and ITV1 Channel Is to my favourites
and noticed that although the same program was being broadcast (My Uncle
Silas), ITV1 W Country broadcast in 16:9 whilst ITV Channel Is broadcast in
4:3 widescreen. No idea why this should be but I am very happy to have the
new channels. Thanks.

Thomas.

Spoke too soon, ITV2 is still encrypted; all the ITV1s are free though.

ITV News always has been FTA.

ISTR encountering it as FTV on its old frequency, possibly only for a
short time. Getting back to ITV2, a re-scan of the 10758MHz
transponder might be worth a try (if it is not on a DodgyBox) in case
TH is actually looking at one of the cryptically-named channels
(currently in the style of G53, G54, etc.) which used to carry ITV2
but which could now be dead.
