So now that Directv is marketing it's own DVR what happens to us
Lifetime subscribers to Tivo with Directv after early 2007 when the
agreement with Tivo runs out?

Ugh!

About 3 years ago DirecTV bought Tivo. Then NewsCorp bought DirecTV.

Rupert Murdoch owns it all.

The new DirecTV DVR's are basically going to be bigger TiVo's re-badged.

DirecTV NEVER bought TiVo.....it is still listed as a SEPARATELY traded
stock on the listings boards. There is simly a LICENSING agreement
between the two companies to allow use of their software in their
receivers.....nothing more.

Direct Tv did buy Tivo, Two seperate companies owned by one common holding
company.. Stocks, liability issues, legal entities... business as usual.
The licensing agreement alllows money to leave one hand and go into the
other.. ..... double dipping. You know ... businesss..
