Bad move. XM offering on Directv Total Choice package lacks the Classic
Rock genre as provided by MusicChoice Channel 819.

Other problems:

XM "rides the gain" with the volume rising and falling. Like the D.J. is
playing with his volume control knob. MusicChoice was always perfectly
balanced.

XM disc jockeys talking over the intro of the music selection. MusicChoice
did not have this extraneous annoyance.

This was a bad management decision. Subscribers should demand DIRECTV
return the MusicChoice channels to supplement the badly lacking XM Radio
channels or lower the subscription price accordingly.

The only good out of this is I learned what XM is all about: I don't want
any part of it in my car, house, or when I'm out jogging.

This is ridiculous. Anyone who would find MusicChoice to be superior
to either of the satellite radio services is just missing something.

Do you have DTV? or did you not see channel 833

XM: Top Tracks, Channel 833

Nothing but the Big Ones. Hold up that lighter, because the band is
about to hit the stage for the final number of the night. All the killer
cuts from the supergroups of the 60s, 70s and 80s.

Lower what subscription price?

MusicChoice sucked. I listened to it for pobably a total of 20 minutes
in 9 years.

I listened to BPM almost all day today (I like the beat and songs), and
I am 67 year old!

Responding to Nomen Nescio's concerns with respect to DirecTV and XM:

I agree with you on the annoying DJ presence
on some of the XM channels. You should not have to listen to them with a
PAID satellite
service. At home,I will continue to listen to DMX
(Digital Music Express). It has the same format that Music Choice had on
DirecTV and I can get it on my 4DTV (Big Dish [BUD]) satellite system.
One channel I will miss that Music Choice had that XM does not have is
"Soundscapes" [MC9].
Having said that,I do have it in my car because it is a vast
improvement over standard FM Radio, although only marginally better.
For people who strictly like music and *ONLY*
music,XM is indeed a poor choice.
But,people have varied tastes and I understand the reason for an
eclectic mix of talk radio and music channels.
But as a music lover, yes,I will probably look elsewhere than XM for my
HOME entertainment choices.

And anyone who finds the need for that many urban crap channels on XM is
sick. Who the hell calls THAT music?

All those millions of people buying it up.

Certified quadruple Platinum is 50 Cent’s The Massacre ... the highest
certified record to date of 2005, according to the Recording Industry
Association of America (RIAA).

Waz THAT the music you waz talkin 'bout?

I grew up when "classic rock" was new. Aren't there enough Clear Channel
outlets that serve this need?
Too much great new new music around.

Sure, if your the type of person who wears your jeans down around your ass so

that your boxers show, or those who cant stop playing with their
efem nipple rings in public.

But why does anyone listen to a Clear Channel affiliate?
Shoot me the day I pidgeon-hole my music preferences into one nostalgic
phase of the all the great music out there (though not often easy to
find).

Not talking about all that - you can find that on any Clear Channel
affiliate - I'm taking about all the other music that never makes it to

commercial radio.

XM is chronically bashed (by the TOP40 crowd) for its musical
diversity. Simply put, you are not going to find more diverse
offerings on the public airwaves.

One realy gets the sense you haven't even listened to it, because your
remarks are totally inconsistent with having done so.

I don't know of anyone who does. Just about everyone I know has XM.

What are you talking about?

My point exactly- you have to go looking for it because it's too hard to
find on commercial radio. When's the last time you heard killer
Bluegrass or great new Indie rock on one of those?
