Starband is.
Have a nice day

Not much any more. In fact, even on the starband.general news feed
there isn't much action anymore as most individuals that used to be
there have left and hooked up with WildBlue. In fact, my last full day
on Starband will be this Thursday as my WildBlue installer will be here
first thing Friday morning to hook me up!!!!

4 1/2 years and FINALLY will be Starband free!

Frank

Starband works so well there's not much to discuss. Plug it in, turn it on,
fasten your seatbelt and surf away.

Politics on the other hand, well, the democrats are always doing something
stupid.

Check this story about the racist Hildabeast...

Starband sucks full time, I was with them for 41/2 years they have no
customer service, they shut down tech support on weekends and during the
week it can take hours to get tech support.. but then again you are
intitled to your opinion no matter.....

I generally agree with your assessment of Democrats, but also have a
low assement all politicians. They don't really give a rats behind.
But why are you discussing it here. There' always
alt.binaries.nude.hillery. Lets all get back to bashing Starband.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!!!

Just had WildBlue installed last Friday. Got the Value Pak which is
$49.95 a month for the ole' "Up to 128k up and up to 512k down". BUT,
THEY AIN'T LYING!!! After having to go with satellite for my
"Broadband" Internet access 4 1/2 years ago I am finally getting what
I'm paying for. My uploads have tested right at 118k, and downloads at
544k. Not only that, but the download is one steady stream and not
little peaks, valleys, and pauses like I always got with Starband.

When I called Starband and canceled my service, they mentioned the "buy
back program", and stated once they received the modem back they would
bench test it, and if it tested good they would pay $100.00, but if it
tested bad they only paid $25.00. All I know is it was working till I
unplugged if for the last time, and just wonder if they even bother
testing them or just write everyone a check for $25.00 and say the modem
didn't pass. (I mean they lied about everything else the past 4 1/2
years, why would they start tell the truth now?) Has anyone else tried
the buy back program, and if so how much did you receive?

Oh well, just wanted to jump in and let everyone know there is life
after Starband . . . AND IT IS GREAT!!!!!

I agree completely, went the ame rout with the pro pak and get
1300-1400 or better down and 200+ most of the time up... also they seem
to care about customer service and have tech support available on weekends,.

oh ok...

well, when I had starband, I got the little 'b'.

and I was lucky to get 25.. was more like 19kb/sec.

Its obvious that their customer base since then (1999)
has dwindled to nearly nothing, evident in the fact that
users speeds have increased. Im shocked how theyve
stayed in business.. Of course, filing bankruptcy helped
Im sure..

Im happy as hell cable came into my area.. Starband was
pure hell. Currently enjoying 4mbit down and 1mbit up.
With low latency.. ahhhhhhhhhhh..all for $39 month and
NO equip to buy..
