TomTom Support
A word of warning if you send your unit back for repair to TomTom . I work
for a retail Company that sells Electronics .Like any electronic product gps
unit do fail.I had to return a TomTom Go 300 along with memory card for
repair to the their repair centre in Holland.A returns no was issued along
with a courier tel no.Unit was carefully boxed & labelled .A week or so went
buy & customer is getting anxious for return of unit. Phone calls made &
promises by TomTom that unit would be returned shortly.I got the feeling
that the customer thought we were stalling on repair so he contacted TomTom
also.Again promises were made regarding units imminent return.Understandably
the customer was angry pi**ed off. After contacting TT again they agreed to
send us out a new boxed unit if we would replace unit out of store stock for
customer. This was done & many phone calls & false promises made, we have
still not received a replacement unit. Finally after 9 wks a memory card
turns up & no explanation.Phone TomTom again (now on first name terms with
customer support staff). I am now pi**ed off to find that after nine weeks
they say we only sent them the memory card. They have obviously lost the unit
we sent back to them & are now trying to get out of replacing unit.We used
THEIR courier & they now say WE only sent them a memory card. They have
asked us to to supply the weight of the package BUT the courier & us did not
record it. Strangly TT have no time limit that kicks in when a unit is sent
for repair (industry standard 28 days max). The moral of the story is weigh
package in front of courier when collecting & get courier to sign confirming
package weight.OR you have no proof of content. The fight with TomTom goes
on to have a replacement unit sent to us.
