It's only been a few days, but I find I'm less apt to turn the music on at
all. This is a disappointment so far. And since I'm used to Music
Choice,
the voices that come on now sound like commercials to me, no matter what
they're talking about. I wish I had Comcast to go back to.

I agree. It's not much of a switch. Music Choice was more of a music
channel service than a radio station. Luckily I've got Comcast as
well,
so I still have my Music Choice.

I have to admit, as much as I hate Comcast, I hate the promos and DJs
even
more. I may go back to Comcast.

Which proves, no matter what DirecTV does, someone won't be happy. I find
XM to be a superior choice as far as I'm concerned. Their programming does
a better job of targeting my interests and I am listening more now than I
did with Music Choice.

Uh oh...did Music Choice go away?! I have DishNetwork and one of the reasons
I got it is Music Choice. I haven't listened to it for awhile but when I did
try XM and found it full of blathering I was sure happy to still have MC.

I thought Dish went to Sirius. That is why I assumed Direct went to XM.

They did.

Even before they went to Sirius, they weren't using MC, were they?
I thought they were using a combination of Muzak and some other
service.

Nope, they had Muzak, and programmed their own CD-audio channels.

I'll have to listen to some of the XM channels that are meant

The couple channels I've tried so far have been announcer-free.

Er, hence, "a combination of Muzak and some other service." The
latter being their own.

Anyway, I was surprised to see someone say that he liked having
MC on Dish, since it was never there. :-)

I do suspect that we've lost the holiday music on DirecTV, except
for Christmas. :-(

The Classical channels, 864, 865, 866 have announcers but not between
each selection. Channels 878 and 879 are talk only.

That's just my memory flaking out on me.

Hmmm...I really did think it was Music Choice. I looked into it
back when I was trying to get information about the music. (My
wife sometimes likes to know what that last song was.)

Regardless, it was better than the blather-laden crud they've
added recently.

I was just trying to listen to the 60s while working around the house.. they
had so much yackin in-between every song and even during the intros that I
just finally had to turn the damn channel. AM radio went out a long time
ago.... not so on XM.

LONG AND NASTY E-MAIL AS SOON AS I GET THE WORST OF THE PROFANITY OUT OF MY
SYSTEM !!!

Don't waste your time. They'll just reply with a cut and paste from
their "answers" script. I wouldn't bother calling CS either, as they're
as upset about it as you are. If you want someone of any authority to
hear you out write to the Office of the President:

Ellen_ What you describe is another peeve of mine. I do see music info
being updated for some of the channels but slower then MusicChoice did. At
times the info is wrong for the song playing... the next song etc.. Even

That's bizarre, since XM radio receivers all display the info. It's not
like DTV has to get the information from some new, untested source.
Maybe they are trying to use the now-abandoned Wink Interactive TV data
channels to propagate the music channel data, and don't have it synced up
right. I know Wink was pretty out-of-sync when they first tried it.

I never found a Music Choice channel that I could listen to for very long.
The XM selection seems much broader and each channel is more defined.
What I notice now is that the sound quality of the bedroom TV stinks ;-)
