FTA in Japan

Postby slackjaw3 » Sun Nov 20, 2005 12:36 am

I am living in Japan. I have a Satellite dish about 24 Inches wide and a reciever (Panasonic TU-CSM100). What are my options? The reciever has a null modem, but I dont think i can find any flashes for it, so I guess I need to look for only FTA stuff. Where do I point my dish for some English or American TV? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

The best way is to point to Optus B3, there is many Japanese channels FTA,
plus you can get automatically other pay TV channels, but you need to input
in this magic frequency 3900 H 2091

Lets me know how you go.

You tell the bloke to go to Optus B3, then you give him a C-band frequance,
Even if there where an FTA japanese channels on B3, it's very doubtful , a
65cm dish would get the signal.
Try a search of Lyngsat for possable FTA frequances that cover japan.

thanks, but I cant input frequcies on this box. I guess it's one that came with the dish. there are switches for JC-SAT, SCC and BS. I am assuming those are for different satellites. For some reason though, I can pickup BS1 and BS2 on the JC-SAT setting.
So I guess I need a new reciever. Whats a good one to buy? preferably one I can update with flashes for pay TV.

thanks for your help
