Need Help with a Multiswitch |
|
|
I have DTV and have 2 dvr recievers but with only one cable each going
to them. I would like to hook the 2 cables up to each of them. I am a
pretty handy guy but I don't know a lot of how this satellite stuff
works so please be patient with me. I am not up on all the terminology
so I'll explain the best I can.... I have a round dish that has two
cables going directly to each receiver I have, there are no splitter or
switches between them. The guy at the a/v store sold me a Terk BMS58 to
split the signal. Now, I have tried asking them about hooking it up and
they don't have a clue, so maybe I have the wrong equipment. I sure
someone will let me know that it won't work.... Anyway on the switch
there are four satellite connections and I only have two to put in.
What do I need to do to get this working or do I need something else
completely?? |

That one will work, but is overkill. You connect each line fromthe dish to
the A or 0 Khz inputlines, and the outputs to your tuners. |

The Terk BMS58 is a 4 X 8 multiswitch and what you need is a 2 X 4 or 3 x
4 switch. I suggest that you exchange it for something like a BMS34
which has two satellite plus one OTA antenna input (which you do not need
to use) |
