Stolen Garmin GPS |
|
|
Someone stole my Garmin 2610 last Saturday in Boston near the Quincy
Market. Parked in a nearby parking garage on the 3rd floor around 3 to 4
in the afternoon. After dinner and a walk we went back and found the
passenger window of my rental smashed and the 2610 gone. Had it on the
floor of the passenger side to avoid notice but still it was taken.
Bought it in October 04 and added a 2 Gig flash card so I could import
the entire North America map set.
I really liked my 2610. It worked great and helped me in many cities
like S.F., Tampa and Boston. Made a police report. I doubt if anyone
will find it but decided to post this incident anyway. |

Sorry to hear of your loss. I'd suggest also letting Garmin know of
the theft. The thief or eventual purchaser may eventually want to
upgrade the maps and would need to get an unlock code from Garmin
that's tied to the electronic serial number of that unit.. |

A nicer way would be to allow you to set a PIN no. so it won`t boot up
in the first place.

Sorry to hear of the loss Dave. Make sure you contact Garmin and send
them a copy of the police report. They have a lost and stolen data base in
case someone contacts them to get map updates or unit repair.
