Ireland Maps |
|
|
Hello all,
I'm just wondering if anyone currently does street level mapping of Ireland
with something modern.
I mean, so it includes minor roads because that's what I'd want to know about
and not just Dublin.
Far as I can tell, there is no such thing around at the moment. Would like to
find out differently as I need to navigate up from Cork to somewhere remote. |

Garmin got some support for Ireland. From their webpage:
Great Britain and Republic of Ireland
Great Britain: Full Coverage
Isle of Man
Northern Ireland: Full coverage for major cities with intertown roads
Ireland: Cork, Count Kerry, Dublin, Galway, Limerick, Waterford
Channel Islands |

Trouble is, cities aren't much use. In e.g. Cork, or Dublin, useful enough but
I tend to become lost outside cities and in remote areas. I know the Garmin
coverage, for example, does not have any roads at all in the bit I'm going to.
I'm after something like TomTom but for Ireland rather than the UK, i.e. street
level coverage.
I did have this yonks ago on Navman Smartpath (was it?) which did street level
across the whole thing. Maybe the law changed since then. |
