okay.
we really ARE confused.
my friend pickup at a viewsat 2000 platinum.
diseq 4 port switch, connected to 61.5 and 110 dishnet.
99% sure he put it on port 1 (61.5) and port 2.

now, we go to installation menu, pick echostar3, then leave things on
defaults (standard lnb type etc)... we put in port 1 for this sat... and do
a regular non blind scan. it picks up a few chanels so it looks good.. we
tried playing around with frequencies (have no idea what we were doing) but
then it picked up other chanels too. so its all good.
then we go to echostar 6,8 and put in port 2. then do a scan.. the damn
thing scans 61.5 also!
in fact, I can go to echostar3 put in any port 1-4 and it scans 61.5... same
for going to echostar 6,8 I put in any port and it scans 61.5 also.

I tried goping through all sats on list (koreasat etc) and set ALL ports to
NONE. but this does not help.

there was just that one single time when I was able to scan the 110 sat.
and I have no idea what I did, but all seemed to work wel.. I just wanted to
delete all chanels after this worked, cause of many duplicates and wanted to
start over and scan again, and then it was no longer working.
as far as files on his fta, my firend picked up something like this:
VIEWSAT_USA-V81 with new key.zip (or somethinglike this)
then changed 08/09 rows in CODE section with 00 F2 98 74 44 1C 65 77 d8
blablalbla
so this would be whats sitting inside now.

any way... hope someone can give a quick tip or two.

thanks!
