Not sure what you mean by standard maps? Memory-Map in the Uk and Maptech
in the US will do assuming maps covering the area in question have been
installed.

By "standard maps" I mean the maps that come wwith the app or that you can
purchase for it. I know most of these maps are road-oriented, so I wanted
to find an app whose maps work well for inland bodies of water. |

Ah I see, in that case you need an app that supports Topographic mapping as
I suggested. But these do not come with country wide mapping, you must buy
the map tiles for the areas that are of interest to you.

You can download a MArine POI database from Garmin that overlays the
default basemap and shows nautical features. I don't know how effective
it would be for your area, but it shows ALL the nav and sounding data
for the local river mouth and the Intracoastal Waterway.
