A partir del Jueves, 01/12, its SL65 time again
along with all the other stuff, meters, dishes LNB's
free sky cards. OK I lied about the last one.
Time for a visit across the frontier though ...

When ever mention of these Lidl promotions is made in these newsgroups
there is always someone who comes on saying the photo or product
description cannot be right. Only to be proved wrong when the product
appears in store.

Lidl promotional material for the SL65, 1 Sep 2005 claimed
"Can be used to receive Sky, but will require a subscription to the
service"
I wonder where anyone managed to insert a card!

Which reminds me. Slightly OT but WTH. Lidl's cheapo DVD players have a
slot for SD cards! They'll read MP3s, JPGs, you name it.

I see they're doing TDT receivers for 60 euros as well.

Yeah, I saw that too, I think you had better get one from
there as at that price with a three year warranty its hard to
beat and will be the correct unit for the market.
I'll be over for a few, providing the pikeys have not
preceded me with a barrow ...

Well, the UK sets are now considerably cheaper, but the question is
what does a TDT box do that a DTT does not? OK this may not be
satellite but it is life as we know it, Bill ;)

It also says 'Receptor de radio incluido.'
I haven't found any radio channels with my UK freeview
box, nor have I found any DAB broadcasts, so if there is
anything there this may be the set to get it.
I am listening to BBC Radio 3 on my old Philips On Digital DTR6370 DTT box,
as my FM tuner blew up and the quality of DAB is very poor compared to
either FM or DTT. The UK DTT system has dozens of radio stations. Were it
not for that, I would probably listen on satellite - but I would need some
cabling and a second receiver to do that.
