Has anyone used one of these? How suitable are they, especially for
motorcycle use?
Thanks. |

If the iWAY has a spinning HD versus a solid state HD, not recommended for
use on a motorcycle due to excessive vibes. Would suggest a Garmin 2510 or
the newer 2720 or 2730 which have solid state HDs.

Any issues with the hard drive and the bike? I'm also in the market
for a GPS for use on the motorcycle but I've been specifically steared
away from this unit because of potential problems caused by vibration
affecting the hard drive.

So does anyone know if the iWAY 500 has a solid state HD or does it spin?

We rode from Lorton Va to Melbourne, fl on Skyline drive and the blue
ridge pky as well as many back roads. Some very rough. It never
burped. Used it to play Mp3's through my AudioBoss head set and was
very pleased. I have also been told about the HD issues but since this
technolgy was originally desinged to be on a Boat, it is ready for a
Bike. Best things are that it is waterproof with a very large screen.
Even comes with all the stuff you need to hard wire to your bike and
the Ram Mount.
I have mine on a Suzuki Boulevard
