My home is wired for cable tv. This wiring has never been used for cable vision & each room has a jack for cable. I have recently bought Dish Network with 2 receivers and had wiring run just for dish. The Dish Network rep. told me that I could not use cable wiring to watch satellite television. Is this correct? It's such a shame to have my home wired for cable and not be able to use it.....help! help !

If the house is wired with rg6, the dealer was looking to take more of your hard earned money.
If it is wired with rg59, then updating the wiring is a good call. 59 does not have the frequency range necessary for trouble free satellite viewing.
