Tomtom 5 memorising position

Postby RoundSquare » Tue Dec 06, 2005 12:08 pm

I previously asked this question in one of my other posts but I think it got
buried in amongst it.

TT 3 had a memorise position option in it which I used quite extensively. I
have TT5 now and can't find this option or something similar. Has it be
removed completely?

If so anyway around it?

Thanks.

What is wrong with the Add Favourite button on the main menu screen?

What is wrong with the Add Favourite button on the main menu screen?

Will it memorise the position I am currently driving in with 1 keypress?
I don't know as I haven't tried it. It may well be what I am looking for.

The scenario I have used it in plenty of times before is: driving through a
location and seeing a shop or place of interest I want to return to.
Obviously while driving I don't want to be messing about with loads of
settings in TomTom. In TT3 all I had to do was click "memorise position" and
I could return to that point at any time.

Cheers

No, but you didn't specify that in your message.

There is a utility on www.pocketgpsworld.com which can memorise positions
for speed cameras but I don't see why it can't be used for other POI's too.

I think to add a favorite is a couple of keypresses, but you can add POI's

based on GPS location but it is best doing it while parked up.

Cant remember how exactly to do it, but press the screen, change
configuration, manage POI's, add POI, select the POI group, then
address/recent location etc comes up, press the arrow and on the next screen
is GPS location.

Thanks but I've found the way to do it without going through the POI with
about half the keystrokes. Which means I can do it while driving which is
ideal.
