I'm trying to get the correct longitude projection in Trackmaker from
an imported ESRI shapefile. The latitude projects correctly. For
example, the longitude is 90 degrees but Trackmaker puts it at 12
degrees; thereby, putting my shapefile on the West coast of Africa
rather in SE North America. Also, I've been unsuccessulto get a GCS
projected shapefile (WGS84)to display on Trackmaker's screen. I've
switched the settings in Trackmaker back and forth but no success. I
can get a ESRI shapefile projected to UTM to display in Trackmaker but
that's where the longitude projection is not correct. I also converted
the shapefile to KML using Google Earth's ArcGis plugin and imported
into GPS Trackmaker but I don't see anything on the screen. The KML
file loads correctly into Google Earth and projects correctly.

Can anyone help me?

I've had some problems with early versions of Trackmaker. Mine had to
do with georeferencing the map image using only 2-point calibration and
importing map data which crossed the equator.

If you are not married to Trackmaker, there are other options. See,

New information not shown on the chart: ExpertGPS 2.0.

You can download the program for free and it will work until the trial
period expires. When you register the product you can purchase the GIS
Option Pack. I use it to import ESRI .shp files. For georeferencing
map images, ExpertGPS 2.0 now supports most all common coordinate
formats, datums, projections.
I hope this helps!

You might be able to convert them to a track with the free version(s)
of OziExplorer, using the blank map. Worth a try.
