There has been much said about an increase in Expressvu starting the
first of 2006. I haven't been able to find anything other than on this
site to indicate a price increase is coming. I noticed that they had
some 'freebies', example. Fox News, TechTV which have expired and are
now packaged in another theme pack.

I presently have their Ultimate 7 Pack + Movies at $68.00 a month. I
want to drop one of my themes and add the one that now includes the Fox
News plus add their HD package. One would think that would only require
a few keystrokes on their computer to accomplish. Wrong! If I make any
change in my present package I must then subscribe to another package as
the "Ultimate 7 Pack" will no longer be available.

They are suggesting their "Ultra Value Combo+Movies" which is the same
price but with only 6 Theme packages (instead of 7 which I now have).
Lose 1 theme but pay the same - that is another example of an increase
if I want to keep 7 themes.

I als want to get an HDTV receiver but try and buy one from any of the
local outlets if you are an existing customer. NO WAY! You can get a
sweet deal if you are a New subscriber but the hell with the existing
subscribers. I have been a ExpressVu subscriber for over 7 years and
loyalty doesn't mean a thing to them.

Starchoice is looking a lot better now with no extra charge for HDTV and
super package deals on receivers.

was a BEV subscriber for years to their ultimate whatever it's called
package. Got sick and tired of their BS price increases and horrendous
customer service so I keep a min sub and steal the rest because they suck so
bad.....

Most of the Bell World stores that I have been in lately have 9200 packages
marked "For existiong subscribers only". If you just want to buy an HDTV
receiver you can buy one for $62.00 US at
http://cgi.ebay.ca/BELL-EXPRESSVU-6100-HDTV-RECEIVER-like-NEW_W0QQitemZ5838902151QQcategoryZ67893QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

You will also need to upgrade your dish for the second satellite, so you
will need a dish upgrade kit. You can add HDTV for 10.00 per month to your
Ulitmate 7 package. A lot of the individula channels within theme packs can
also be ordere as a la carte selections. Unfortunately, you are right, thi
is not the case with Fox news.

The reason yopu cannot exchange theme packs under your existing contrract is
because the packagine is different. I just has a bit of a surprise when I
added HDTV and found I do not get TSN nor one of the movie channels, even
though I will qualify when I change over to the new packaging when my
existing contract expires next month. As Johny Cash used to sing "I don't
like it but I guess things happen that way"

I do agree with you by the way and have made this point many times to Bell,
that it would be nice to see some loyalty incentives for long term
subscribers once in a while.

Uh ... I don't want Fox news. I was responding to DB's post. For those that
do, they need to take it as part of a them pack. Some channels in some them
packs can be purchased separately that was my point.

I do understand however, why someone would want to stay tuned into what this
scary group of people have to say. They are a potent force in the US and
have won the last two elections. Well stole one and won one.
