I do hope that someone can help. I have had no end of problems, is it the
machine or is it me. I have a PDA with tomtom navigator 5 GPS now with the
latest updates installed, before the update was installed I had problems
just the same. My continuing problem is that I keep getting error message
'Error during planning...' I know that the address is right and I have tried
by just the postcode and that is the same, also lately I have noticed that
near all of the addresses there is a picture of the ferry icon from POI. Up
to now I have formatted the SD card as advised by tomtom and reinstalled the
memory from when I first received the GPS, I do not have a CD to reinstall
as it came pre installed. Lot of occasions I have had the licensing screen
come up (that is green) I have accepted and then I have been told that there
are 'no maps found' and there is nothing there, to get around this I press
the reset button on the back of the machine. Please can you help. They
have told me to post back the machine but I am reluctant to do that as it
will go to Glasgow and if it is my error not only will I have to pay the
postage their but also £20 to tomtom because it is not the machine that is
faulty. I have only had it 3 months and it has 9 months of warranty left, I
think it could be me?

TIA

Lynne

it sounds like to me, that the program has been corrupted on install.
you said you done a format on the SD card? is that the SD card with TT5 on?
Cant see why TT would tell you to format the card? if it was the card it
would go wrong before the planning screen.
have you done a hard reset on the IPAQ?
Last resort I know? does everything else work ok?

TT after sales customer support is total poo. they really don't have a clue

Hello Larry,

Thank you for your feed back I had totally given up on anyone helping me so
I have sent it back under warranty on their instructions to Glasgow to
TotalGPS where I bought it. The guy there told me, like you have said that
there must be a corrupt file and I do not have the installation disc to
reinstall myself so to send the whole unit back. Unfortunately now it has
gone back I am getting no feedback from my emails to them, they will not
even inform me (via email) if they have received the unit or not. I did
sent it by Registered Mail so all should be well there but I would have
appreciated a short reply such as ' Yes it has arrived ' I wait in hope.

Thank you once again

Sophie

I wouldn't worry overly, TotalPDA have an excellent reputation and you
should receive it back quickly. They post in our forums so if you need to
get an answer contact me via email.
