I have a Garmin 60C with only the base map. If I buy either the GPS 10
Bluetooth or GPS 18 they appear to come with a full version of
Mapsource North America City Select.

Can I then download the my orginal GPS 60C as well as use them wiht the
GPS 10 or 18?

I was going to get the Mapsource City Select North America software but
it would appear I can get either the GPS 10 or 18 for just a little
more $$$ and get another GPS for my laptop to boot.

Will this work?

Yes, but you are limited to using just two different GPS receivers with
the CitySelect software. So the GPS18 and your 60c would use both of
the unlock codes.

So each unit requires an unlock code? I thought the unlock code was
just for the software.

It is. But they unlocks are keyed to the hardware (GPSR) serial number.

I also have a laptop and a HP pocket pda (both have bluetooth). Could
I get the Garmin gps 10 unit (comes with North America maps) and then
download the maps to both the gps 10 and my Garmin 60C? Are there any
limits on the GPS 10? Can I run the maps or use them with both my PDA
and my laptop?

Yes, that you can do. The unlock codes are tied to the GPS serial number,
not the computer running the software.

Why anyone pays for US topo mapping is beyond me. All are free at places like topozone.com and a gps with a PDA gives much more function. I guess aGPS with map storage s easier to use.

You need to provide the SN of the GPS as well as the code included

with CD to get an unlock code.
