DirecTV Empty Guide?

My DirecTV TiVo DVR40 [upgraded to 120 GB drive) recently stopped
updating the guide. Please note that it had been working flawlessly
for a year. Almost all of the channels listed were "To be announced".
Could this happen because the drive was full? I deleted several
movies and old shows and then reset the box. The guide is now
updating with data again. Any thoughts on why this happened?

Did you try a reset before deleting programs? They are stored in different
locations of the database so I doubt the quantity of recorded material had
anything to do with it. A simple reboot is probably all it needed.
