Hello,

Thanks to all those who replied and emailed in reply to using a Navman
520 with a heated screen. This is my first GPS and the help was appreciated.

The unit turned up today and works perfectly well I did not need the
external antenna so luckily saved some cash there! Did 4 short journeys
on 2 places I knew and 2 I did not and the signal dropped temporarily
twice for just a second or so before regaining full signal.

One journey took me down a road that has concrete bollards blocking the
way but on turning back the recalculation was very quick indeed. One
other journey showed me an excellent short cut that I never knew existed
so was pleasantly surprised. Early days yet I know but this looks
encouraging.

Using the menus is a bit tricky some things are hidden away where you
least expect them, 5 digit postcode not such a problem as I was typing
in house numbers and street names. Got the premium version for £269
delivered from http://www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk/

Once again thanks to all who responded.

Regards.

John G.
