I have a bell receiver with the new Blue card. It is currently
unplugged as I go through renovations in my basement (my 3100 is plugged
in and working fine) I am not 'testing' or anything like that. My
question is how long can it be out of the stream before bell cuts it off?

Thanks

They cut off one of my receivers after it was unplugged (on an unpowered
powerbar) for about 3 weeks. Prior to the receiver being unpowered, it was
plugged into a live powerbar and worked without any problems.. I didn't
realize that the powerbar for one of my receivers (receiver in the basement)
was powered off until I had guests over to watch a sporting event. I'm not
sure where you got your 8 to 12 months from and I don't think that your card
will have any programming.if it has been out of the stream for 3 months.
Mine only took about 3 weeks in an unpowered powerbar to lose most of its
programming.

Why not just plug it in some where. It does not have to be in use. However,
even if you leave it unplugged for a long time the worst that could happen
is Bell would need to reactivate it. Unless things have changed, I don't
believe they would charge you for this. However, why not call and ask them
first. I know this last suggestion will unleash a stream of anti Bell
invective, but they are not all idiots there. Just about the same ratio as
the posters to this newsgroup including yours truly.
