Freeze-ups |
|
|
I get frequent freeze-ups on many different channels. It happens several
times a night. Picture and sound just stop for a few seconds then continue
normally. Is this a reciever problem or is it DirecTV? |

It happens to me constantly, but only when I use the remote (change
channels, try to view the guide, etc).
Its almost enough to make me go back to cable.

DirecTiVO this is a sign of a failing hard drive.

It's an RCA DRD430RG. I have reset it several times but it seems to have no
effect. I take from your reply that you don't have the problem? |

Durect TV for years - no problems unless in heavy rain. How is your signal
strength and dish pointing. Also loose cables and bad wires can cause
similar problems. |

My brother's father-in-law has had freeze ups on one of his RCA DRD
430RG receivers for a long time. His other one is fine. I've tried to
tell him to buy a replacement receiver but he has lived with it. It is
the receiver because I've swapped receiver positions and it is only
that one receiver that freezes. |

I have 2 Directv d10-200s. Happens on both of them. Never happened until
the receiver software was 'upgraded' a couple of months ago.
Thanks,
