I am looking for a GPS that will provide time arrival time at each waypoint,
and departure time at that waypoint.

Times along route would be great, but probably looking for to much there.

Any one know of any model which will provide that information

Thanks

Most Garmin and Magellan models keep a tracklog (sometimes called a
"breadcrumb trail") of the path travelled which includes the lat.,
long., altitude, and date/time of each point along the way. Typically

If you display the tracks and waypoints with a program like ExpertGPS, it is
relatively easy to realize which times match which waypoints. I'm not sure
what granularity is desired, or if this needs to be a standalone GPS
application, with no PC involved.

On a recent vacation, I marked waypoints wherever I took pictures. The
chronological order of the waypoints, matched against the track times and
the time information embedded in the digital photos provides pretty good
correlation.

I also enjoyed taking the "tour" with Google Earth, following my
trackpoints.

Most Garmin and Magellan models keep a tracklog (sometimes called a
"breadcrumb trail") of the path travelled which includes the lat.,
long., altitude, and date/time of each point along the way. Typically
around 2000 - 10000 such trackpoints can be recorded and you can choose
to have the unit record them based on fixed time or distance intervals
or to use the automatic mode where points are recorded more frequently
when the direction and/or speed are changing. This isn't quite the
same as recording times at waypoints, but the tracklog data should let
you determine that information.

Lowrance models also keep a tracklog but without the timestamps. A
work-around is to use a fixed time interval and record the starting
time of the tracklog.
