Unfortuantely the new maps are only compatible with "Version 5" software.
Which means buying the new sofware. Even though the TT3 upgrade is finished
it might be worth asking TomTom if you can get it as it will be cheaper for
you.
Yes that should do the job. Alternatively you could buy the equivalent UK
software and just add the US maps to that.

Some people have said that TT3 and TT5 don't like living together on the
same device as it overwrites files etc.
Your best bet I think is to buy the UK version of TT5 and then get the US
maps for it. |
