Hi all.

When using the "guide" feature on the 3100, there is a definite lag at times
when scrolling up or down through the various channels. I'll hit the scroll
up button 2 or three times in a row and nothing happens. Then about 3-4
seconds later the channel guide will zoom forward to where it should be.
There is also a lag in displaying the selected channel once I hit "select".
5-10 seconds at least.

Is anyone else getting this behaviour?

I had a 3100 for a year and a half.. It never did what you describe.

I've got a 5900 PVR now. It has a slight lag, but that's normal because
the guide info is saved on a hard drive. The lag is only about 1/2
second.

Try reset your receiver.
