AIS is Auto ID System. up til now it was only used on commercial vessels.
The new Standard Chartplotters now have the ability to use this system. What AIS does is show you if your on a collision course with another vessel.
It shows on your chartplotter where the other vessels are and the direction they are heading.
It is a anti-collision / tracking unit.
This will be in/on all recreation boats over the next few years..
The Standard CP180i, CP180, CP350, and the CPv350 are tops in this field.
Standard, a leader in commercial equimpment and amateur radio, and Yeasu and leader in satellite communication, and amateur joined forces
and has been making the best chartplotters, and VHF radios on the market today. They have a 3 year warranty and lifetime flatrate after warranty is over. I have been using Standard for the pass 6 years and find them to be tops over all. By owning Starndard I see all that Standard has been doing, Garmin, and Raymarine have been copying. It seems Standard is setting the standards for all.
Ps. it is the easiest ever to use. _________________ Yesterday is History, Tomorrow a Mystery, Today a Gift. |
