Well I am finally at the point where I have the time to set up something
beyond my Austar dish and box. I have been assisted here in the past by
some excellent people and am now asking for advice yet again.

Currently have Austar. No problems there. I also have an Extreme 520 box
and card that gives me the Aurora stuff. The Extreme box is currently the
primary box that accepts the feed from the LNB which loops through and in
turn feeds the Austar box. This is no problem if you want to watch one box
only. With the Extreme box on it then gets the feed from the Austar dish
and the Austar signal goes. So for example I can't watch Austar and record
off the Extreme because of the way the Extreme box handles the signal. Now
what I need advice on is below.

I now have time to install another dish. I am in Northern NSW and am happy
with what I get through the Extreme box but would like to have a bit of jump
into Satellite tv proper. So what I need help on is:
1. Another dish. I notice that 90cm seems to be pretty versatile size, but
was wondering if a 1.2 m would benefit significantly? The other question is
it worthwhile getting another dish at all? Or should I get a dual LNB and
run separate signals thereby stopping the current problem with only the one
feed into the Extreme box?
2. I am thinking that to benefit most from a second dish the ability to aim
via the Motek method is best. Is this good thinking?

I ask if it is worthwhile at all because of the trend to encryption that is
occurring. To give an idea of what I am hoping to achieve, I am very sports
oriented and would like to get some sports feeds. I am also generally
interested to fish around and learn via this method.

I have never set up a dish etc so that may become the source of more
inquires but any help I can get on the above stuff is appreciated.

And last but not least...good dealers?

Thanks for anybody that may come to my assistance.

Brad

You might be better getting a C-Band dish 2.4 - 4.5m diameter. Typically a
2.4 is okay but if you have the yard space I'd say a 3.0m. $180-$500, my
2.4 black see through mesh cost $220.

You then add an Actuator and V Box - the actuator is fitted to the dish-its
the motor. The V Box (or other make) is this motors controller. The V Box
takes commands from the Set Top Box.

I use it to keep an eye on mostly news, BBC, Worldnet, Channel news Asia,
Arirang TV, CCTV 9 - China is good. Other entertainment channels exists.

Take this to one of the Sat Forums.

This is up to you.

Only for those small Ku band dishes.

Channel Sports Asia and Dubai Sports (boxing) are two that come to mind -
often a Fox feed on Pas 8 might carry NASCAR or Letterman.

Visually to the eye C Band dishes tend to look 'higher' in the sky.
