I have an ipaq 2210 which I use purely for in car navigation and nothing
else.

I found that sometimes in installing navigator software e.g. TomTom there
have been conflicts between the software being installed and the software
which was previously there. It's often quite tricky to track these things
down and remove them too.

Is there an option so somehow get the ipaq to wipe away *everything* I've
installed and reset itself to how it was when leaving the factory, bascially
so I know I have a completely clean environment to install my software.

Cheers!

Mark

Check your PDA's manual for "hard reset".

Yes there is, a Hard Reset will return it to out of the box defaults, Google
for 'iPAQ 2210 Hard Reset' to find out how.
