Can't unlock maps - Garmin GPSMAP 76 |

Hi, I downloaded some maps into my Garmin GPSMAP 76. They were not
unlocked, but I didn't know that at the time. Now whenever I start it
up it says "Can't unlock maps" and I have to hit enter. I've tried a
user-data reset, a master reset, re-downloading Garmin's POI data, and
reinstalling the OS, and nothing will get rid of that. I have no way
of installing any other maps to overwrite the locked maps.
Any ideas? |

This should erase/replace any/all loaded maps so I'm surprised it
hasn't worked.
As a last resort you could use the (original) Sendmap program and use
the -e switch to erase all loaded maps.
You can get Sendmap17 (not Sendmap20!) here.

i had the same problem with a vista C i called customer service and
they walked me through how to load a POI that was for a different unit
but it worked great. i no longer have the warning pop-up, i suggest
you call garmin customer service, they'll fix ya up, they did me
garmin has great customer service
