info wanted about a blue foxtel smartcard |
|
|
I have a tms007 stb running all the fta channels (with a gold card I've had
for about a year) that I get in North-west WA and I have been handed a blue
foxtel smartcard last week. As I am only partially "technically minded" with
this type of technology, is it just a matter of putting the card into the
iredto cam I have in the box or am I wasting my time?

You'd be wasting your time, as Foxtel uses NDS. To use Irdeto, you need an
Austar card. |

And your gold card is technically illegally enabling you to receive out of
area broadcast reception:)
The TMS is a piece of shit rebadged Strong, sold by the wanker pirateers in
Belmont. I bet that you got your useless card from them too, and had F*#tel
for free for a while. Had it good til it was gone, now you're still trying
to get it for free, being "given" a blue card. |

Thanks for your help jabsy, much appreciated.
And to Adrian, your assumption is only partially correct.... Yes those
tossers at TMS did sell the equipment to me but FYI:
1) got the card from a distributor that was recommended to me from WIN rural
sales, and 2) never had a "free" connection to foxtel because they had
stopped the transmission to piracy units before I even bought my equipment
for my new house. The card is from Perth where the silly fools at foxtel
left it in a vacant house that a mate brought, so be careful about
"assuming" you know what and where things come from. Of course I'm gonna try
and see if it works f*#k paying $12 a week for repeated tv shows. Go to
church and pray harder....
