scrambled by multi billion dollar conglomerates?

use a VHF/UHF antenna if you want free TV.

No such thing as Free TV (or radio for that matter). Your government
sells YOUR airwaves to broadcasters (terrestrial and satellite based),
who then transmit commercials (read programming full of capitalist
spoon feeding) onto the masses who mindlessly toil to perpetuate the
vicious cycle.
Seen any movies devoid of product placements? Hell, how many movies
are shown without cigarettes? That industry allows these temporary
"ban measures" to be tried every so often, but they've been around
100's of years throughout ban measures and will be around 100's more.
Advertisers won't loose, never have, never will, they make MORE when
people pay to watch the propaganda but, they do just fine even when
it's "free" thank you very much!
As mankind spends it's lives toiling in the modern equivalent of the
salt mines, their ambition for equalization is quelled with the latest
"PAY TV, HDTV, TURBO~Intercooled 600MHZ faster than last year widget"
that's offered.
Buy the latest Pay TV Service, Sign up for the Cable TV package!!!
Remind yourself that; although you're not getting laid any more than
pre-civilization man, you've got more toys. Yes pre-industrial man
may have only worked 2 hours per day, BUT for all the extra hours
you're working; you get the satisfaction of KNOWING that you get to
help a rich person become richer.
As President Kennedy once said (paraphrasing here):
"Ask NOT, what the people with power and money can do for you ! "
" Ask what YOU CAN DO for the people with power and money !"
That phrase always gets me. Makes me want to go out and hug my stocks.
God Bless America ~ |

claim a loss on their taxes if they could create evidence of such a
phenomenon!! Now your beginning tho see the big picture. Wheather they
make oooogles of money or not they also have to showw an enomous loss
to get sais money exemptions;Another sinful deception.. I can remember
the 8th Commandment now clearly stating..

But the cost to run & maintain transmitting facilities (transmitter, tower
lights, STL, etc) isn't free either. However, people are willing to pay for
sat-tv so the incentive to turn the business model from pay to commercial
support (have the cable networks pay to put their station on the bird in the
same way they'd have to pay the cost to transmit over a VHF/UHF channel)
isn't likely to occur.

Agreed, and with (H)DTV it's better than ever. ;-) |

They could not rip you off if they showed you in advance that you
were paying for the same Free feeds everyone else gets for nothing! The
encryption is like a child guard cap not to keep you out but to lure
you in its BiG Biz

I used to install theVHF/UHF anttena systems for about $300.00 I could
furnish 50ft of Rohn20 and a 175mile range antenna Now you cant buy the
Rohn 20 for $300.00 wholesale but Radio shack has a beauty omini to
replace the big directional for about $79.00 that will kick its ass!!
So Instead of purchasing the PAY forever TV just go to Emantech and get
the pansat 2700 it will work off of the rinky dink dish that DBS
uses... Soon the more efficiate mobill antenna will replace the Fair
weather dishes and since swaping to higher frequency will requirea
smaller antenna there will be no more rain fade!!;) |

Actually L230, in some respect from the comments that joeturn2000 wrote, I
could factually state that when Bell ExpressVu instated their DBS service in
Canada, they were well aware of the piracy problem that Dish was "using" to
their advantage to compete against DTV, and they used the same business
model in order to crush their direct competitor Starchoice, and lure as many
cable co's subs to their service.
Is it legal? Damn right it is!
Is it ethical? I'll let you decide...
And now that they are "closer" to "eventually" be profitable they are just
pulling the plug on the "hackeable" technology. Gotta hand it to them, they
had over a hundred years to perfect their insidious ways to get you hooked
up on their services, and stay with them.
Be that as it may, as the population's general awareness increases, their
subscriber retention will derease exponentially.

Now lets bow our heads in prayer as we pay omage to the seperation of
church and state. The Lord says it is Very difficult for a rich man to
give up his wealth and enter the Kingdom of Heaven .Whereas the state
says if you have not got a credit card when you get there who wants to
go?

I had to repost this as most of the speed readers in class today have
over looked this!
The hackable technology was also a farse .It was a cleverly designed
tactic to decieve the gullable into getting hooked on phonics. They
created a false since of hackery even built their own hardware and
supplied software to activate a special packet of commands that would
allow fully opened PPVs.Now since the gullable have been BEFRIENDED
they are collecting on legislative
doctorines.$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
.. It was and still is ORGANIZED CRIME. Had one of them got caught it
would have been called a STING OPERATION. I calls it Entrapment but I
cant afford to argue with them;) |

No, because ithe their context, the receivers they sell receive
unencrypted FTA channels.
In your context, you of lash pirate firmware in the receiver to get
aroun paying for pay TV : IE stealing it. |
