Starband/Spaceway Merger |
|
|
In today's SkyReport:
Gilat Places StarBand into Spacenet
Gilat Satellite Networks said its Spacenet subsidiary acquired all
remaining shares of satellite broadband service StarBand Communications
not already owned by Gilat, and the company unit plans to merge the
operations of StarBand into Spacenet.
Gilat said it expects the combined Spacenet and StarBand operations to
achieve greater efficiencies and economies of scale. Spacenet customers
and current StarBand customers should not experience any interruptions
or loss of service quality related to the merger, the company said.
StarBand sells satellite-based broadband services to residential
customers as well as teleworker and small-office/home-office users
directly and through its network of channel partners and agents in North
America and the Caribbean. Spacenet provides satellite and hybrid
terrestrial connectivity, application services and network management. |

It wouldn't surprise me to see SB stop taking new residential orders at some
point.
With all the P2P copyright violators (democrats are basically thieves) out
there sucking on the satellite xponder 24/7/365 and using up all the
bandwidth, it's probably impossible to turn a profit. Maybe they should
restrict service to registered republicans?

I wouldnt buy starband again if someone put a gun to my head.
I'd say just pull the trigger.. at least I wont have the misery of
Starbands service and/or customer service to go thru..
Those people have perfect the art of lying better than
any democrat ever could..
