I am not a forum user although I thought your users should be aware of
starband policy. I have been a starband user since 4/2001. At the time they
only offered a one year contract. I was on starband.com today and noticed
that the rates with a three year plan are only 49.00 per month in the third
year. I called them and they said that they would not credit me any money
but they would offer me the 49.00 rate if I signed up for another three
years. I told them I would not and demanded to speak to a supervisor. They
said that they would not lower my rate without a three year contract. I
refused and still demanded to speak to a supervisor. They finally made an
exception and lowered my rate to 49.00 per month. I'm sure that there are
allot of users out there that are not aware of this. I feel ripped off and
want other users to know about it. Starband never contacted me about a three
year contract

Don't blame StarBand because *you* waited so long to negotiate a better deal
for yourself.

Does your ass drip for a while after you buy a big ticket item like a car?

Any car you buy will go as advertised 65 mph or faster. Fraudband goes 10
uploads . You must be one of those parrot pilots who gets it for free or at
a reduced rate . Big difference ED. Try uploads in the single digits for a
couple months or not working at all.You got yours to hell with everyone else
you are an outstanding human being.

don't mind him Mario, we all went through that shit but some of us were
lucky
and something else came along to relieve us of our pain. Me, I will
never forgive
or forget I got the voodoo doll setten right here and a half dozen long
needles
that I keep poking in it. We just show up in here and point out the
oblivious flaws in
the voten practices of them red neck migratory evangelistic, pot smoking,
chicken hawks that live left handed and vote right handed

I wasnt aware that I would need professional negotiation
skills when buying a internet service..

The service should do what was advertised, or I
should get a full refund, simple as that.

And if it doesnt do what I ask, dont lie to me for
weeks and weeks saying, we're working on it, but
then admit to causing the slow speeds purposely
(because they didnt have enough bandwidth to
spread around in the first place..)

Get real, I mean what kind of crap ass company
swaps out tens of thousands of BRAND NEW
modems (180) for "free" that soon after opening
for business? Good ole Starband realized REAL
quick they couldnt provide the service they advertised
and rushed to shit us suckers the "UPGRADE" 360,
whereas its only intent was to be able to throttle us
all down more and more with this "UPGRADE".

I can do MANY more things with dialup than I can
with starband...

Starband was a joke.. 19kpbs upload speed...
wow thats broadband alright..and although I was told
they were working on the slow uplaod speed problem
the ENTIRE 8 months I was with Starband, it was NEVER
fixed. They are the biggest liars in the internet service
provider business.

And to make it worse.. you got customers on certain clusters
who get decent service.. in here telling the thousands of us
who had crap service that its our fault and to shutup..

I know of 6 starband systems put in around my area.. all 6
were cancelled within 3 months due to crappy service..

Save your money, use dialup.

Starband should die already, at least the customers they have
can get out of the misery.
