Georgia Public Television SNAFU |
|
|
Am I the only one that cannot get a Digicipher signal from Georgia
Public Television at K3-640 during night time hours? The IPG is showing
a program schedule for GPB. What gives?
I am now open for answers from any one, especially employees of the
Georgia Public Broadcasting
Television Network. |

Don't know if your problem occurs on Saturday evenings, but I just tuned
to it at 8:30 PM CDT. Signal quality 52 on my 6.5' dish.
Take care,

Yep, can usually get a signal during the day, but at night I usually can't.

I am in Central Alabama. We are seeing the same thing at night. Day time
reception is 10-4.
Night time is 'blank'. Makes me wonder if the Georgia Public Television 'Third
String' is on duty at night.

I just re-checked GPTV at 10 PM CDT on a Friday night. It was there, no |
problem.
You say you're having this problem in the "night time" hours. Could you
give a more precise time?

Disregard posting about Georgia Public Broadcast on Ku-band. Either the 4DTV
receiver or LNB has failed on the Ku-band side. Currently going through checks
for the problem. It looks as if the LNB may be the problem. I still have
C-band analog and C-band digital from the system.

Gotcha'.
I was having a problem similar to what you describe until I replaced my
Ku LNB with a more temperature stable one. It tended to be more
pronounced in cold weather. Now, it's a non-issue.
