I've just gotten my first BUD up and opperational this evening.. mostly
opperational anyway. I moved into a house where cable isn't accessible,
an old BUD was in the yard... so I decided to play with it a few weeks ago.
After replacing the LNB (C-Band only system right now) and wiring and
messing with the receiver --- I can get about 12 channels just by tracking
around until I see something and changing channels... got some birds
programmed in `accidental like` this way..... but I get no audio... great
picture... any suggestions here would be much appreciated.

I have a HTS Tracker Premiere System 50 w/ Videociper RS
~8' Channel Master (White Fiberglass ? dish)

I know this is a loaded question.... but what are the suggestions as to
where I go from here (aside from the audio problem) What I want to do with
it -- get some news (Fox etc) and sports (college/pro football), SciFi
(BSG, trek of any kind, Stargate, Atlantis), a few channels the females in
the house would like to have.. (Food Network for one)

Im planning on ordering getting programming from *somebody* --- who ?
Should I stay on C-Band only ? Add K-Band ? Is that possible with my dish
? My receiver can apparently handle it since it has a coax spot for
it...t... can my dish with addition of a dueal feed horn and lnb's ? What
about Digital channels or FTA ?

I've been reading everything I can find... but I'm not sure whats outdated
and whats not... the FAQ has references like "will probably be..... by
2000" so I'm not sure the state of affairs of the BUD world....I'm confused
as to what my next best move is... thanks for any suggestions/help.

What channels are you receiving that do not have audio? We need to know this before we
can have any idea what is causing the problem.

There are 3 major sources for programming. The rest mainly are resellers.

You would need a 4DTV receiver (digital) to get Food Net

At <www.skyvision.com> you can find a chart of all the satellites
and channels which have analog programming. You could also buy a copy
of Orbit magazine for the same info plus reading the ads could be very
informative for a newbie. There are 2 types of digital add-ons for your
analog receiver-4DTV if you want to buy movie channels and cable tv
type programming and MPEG2-FTA-DVB for free viewing.

You might get some audio if you press a button on the remote that says
audio or sat audio. There is also an audio tune button. If you change
the tuning of the audio you might find other audio channels.
