Liberal bigotry against conservative minorities like Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and Secretary of State nominee Dr. Condoleezza Rice is on the rise, columnist Michelle Malkin warned on Friday.

"The underlying liberal bigotry that seems to have shown its ugly face .... is what's really remarkable," Malkin told Steve Malzberg, who was filling in for Salem Radio Network "Morning in America" host Bill Bennett.

"We've seen it a lot with how liberal columnists and cartoonists are treating minority conservatives," noted Malkin, who was derided last week as an "Asian Ann Coulter" by the editorial board of the Norfolk Virginian-Pilot.

"I've had to deal with it for much of my career," the conservative columnist and daughter of Filipino immigrants said. "But I have to say it's becoming more and more pronounced."

Malkin said that over the years she's been attacked as an "Aunt Thomasina and a sellout and a race traitor" by liberals of Asian background.

As for criticism that she's an "Asian Ann Coulter," Malkin said, "I'm not Asian, I'm American, for goodness' sake.

"I would take the comparison to Ann Coulter as somewhat of a compliment. I have a lot of respect for Ann Coulter," she added.
