WCCO Strikes Again |
|
|
No luck Getting the Elvis miniseries on CBS here in MPLS. Weather graphics
overlays have already started during Cold Case. The WCCO motto: "No show
shall go un-interrupted". The cropped picture is so distorted it is not
worth watching. This station is a "real spoiler". Got to justify those
weather equipment costs.
The weather graphics has not stopped since 7PM CDT. It only stops during the
adds. Just now as I am typing the adds started. guess what, no weather
graphics. What a bunch of jerks! This problem is getting old.

Yea, know what you mean. Try having a "professional" sports team in your
town, if there is such a thing, that blocks out everything.
All gets promosed, half gets cancelled.
I'll opt for the occasional storm. |

Now they just shut down the ELVIS program completely to show radar of the
rain, a 4 minute interuption.
Why bother to run the miniseries at all!

I have MPEG-2 DVB, but I didn't think that could pick up any CBS. What
equipment do I need?

I give up! I just aborted my ELVIS recording.
I am going to try getting "Elvis" from the Denver 5, and the end of
"Desperate Houswives" from T6-12.
I am recording LO:CI and Jordon from the local NBC. It's riddled with
overlays as well. The local ABC has 65% of the screen surrounded by weather
news, radar, and crawlers. It will be a bitch when ABC goes digital!
In the last 30 years, my life has NEVER been protected by TV weather news.
This time is no exception.

I see it with an Integra IT-912S (w/ HD outputs). My DMT-2050 cannot see it.
I don't know what other MPEG-2 DVB receivers will do it. Check lyngsat (or the
other usual places) for details on the signal (I know you know how to do that).
The IT-912S does have a classical RCA-composite video out if you don't have an
HD TV set. There's also S-video, DVI out, and VGA out. |

Denver 5 looks good. Segment one was without interuption.
However moving this recording by one hour, and dedicating my dish to get it
has royally screwed up my programming/recording plans.

Isn't there a DVB FTA CBS on G10R? I think it's Carribean though. Might be
Atlantic time zone or something.
