I've heard that the satellite that went down was mainly servicing model 360
customers. Are there any customers using 360 modems that are working? Are
there any 48x modem customers that are not working?

If this is the case, and I'm not sure it is, it would probably be cheaper
for Starband to upgrade 360 modem users to the 48x modem and re-aim their
dishes at existing satellites.

I am on cluster 02 with a 360 modem and I am using dialup. I'm as
frustrated as everyone else, mainly at the lack of info we're receiving from
Starband.

Modem type is immaterial. If you were on one of the affected clusters,

you are S.O.L. It's a pity, because I really liked my 484 modem -- it
was everything that the 360 wasn't; but unless and until Starband gets
this mess resolved, my new 484 is as useless as you-know-whats on a
boar hog.

I think at least half of the 480/484 customers are down as well right now.

robinb said today that 480-484 members can pay to have their dishes
repointed to the GE4/AMC4 satellite at this time. 360 users still
need to wait and cannot be repoited at GE4/AMC4 yet :(

You'll find your best info over on www.starbandusers.com
Look for bajadude's posts. I think he's a democrat but his Starband
information is rock solid. :-)

pay???!!!???...how about they pay the people that are being
inconvienced?

no more like, all our old faithful customers that have been with us
since the beginning that still have not switched over to a 480, can't
do anything.

what a crock. just keeps on getting better and better.
