FTA Questions |
|
|
Hello,
1. Is there a receiver that has both FTA and the channels that require
subscriptions?
2. Is high-speed internet available on an FTA system?
3. If I hook up the dish on the same pole as my antenna rotor, will the
antenna signal interfere with the satellite signal?
Any help would be appreciated!

The simple answer is, "NO," although there are some subscription |
channels broadcast in "DVB" format, these are probably not the
subscription channels you are asking about.

No, FTA is a recieve-only system. |

This is a weird question. You would generally use a 3-10 foot dish
for FTA with a motorized mount. This would be much too heavy to add
to a thin antenna pole. But no, there would not be electrical
interference.

Depends what you mean. You can get FTA receivers that have intenral or
add on CA systems, but few pay providers support those. Some providers
mightprovide receivers with certian FTA capability. If you mean Dish or
ExpressVu, there is no receiver you can legitimately get to receive
their service and FTA channels as well.

Not any more I think. There used to be a service that used DVB-S as
their trasnsport for a receive link, and their card could be used to
receive DVB-S TV channels.

If you mean tower, it shouldn't.
