Bad day............... |

I got up in the middle of the night because I couldn't sleep because of all
sorts of wierd crap happening at once. Suddenly, the only light on my modem
that is on is the Power button, and I can't surf. I've done all the usual
things about shutting things down and waiting for all the blinky light
action and all that's worked in the past. I've swapped out and switched on
everything the Troubleshooter suggested except the ethernet cable, because I
don't have a spare and the stores don't open for awhile. The troubleshooter
says the modem isn't communicating with the PC.
Has this ever happened to anyone? Sound like a dead modem, or gremlins,
or..............

It's been a while since I've had *band but if I recall correctly, you should
have more than just the power light on, even when the computer is
disconnected from the modem.
The problem might be a wet or corroded coax connection out on the dish.

Yuk, if it's something outside. They are going to send me a new modem
because I'm paying a few bucks extra for" modem insurance." So finally all
those little payments will pay for a new modem......presuming that's the
problem... If this doesn't fix the problem, I'm heading for the competition.
