This is really outrageous!

We have Dish Network and have had 2 bad remotes since getting it in
December. The buttons for the channels up or down, seem to fail,
where it takes a lot of pressure to make one work. The last time
they replaced the remote and I don't recall any charge for it.

But this time, they said they're chaging me $15 shipping, which is
nonsense, the thing is light - it obviously covers their cost of
this cheapo remote too! For LEASED EQUIPMENT!

Comcast wouldn't do this, nor would anyone else that I know of. If
leased equipment breaks down, they should replace it at no charge!

Does anyone know where I can complain to the government about this
outrage? Would it be the FTC?

There should be a law against this abuse!

They don't owe you free remotes, unless it is in your contract.

If you don't like their service/terms, you take your business elsewhere. If
Comcast is so great, why aren't you using their service?

Maybe they're charging you because you keep breaking them.

It's a LEASE, stupid! If you LEASE a car and it breaks down, they
give you another one! They don't make you PAY to have it repaired,
or buy a new one!

Uhh no they don't. If you lease a car and you crash it, you buy the car.
They don't give you another one.

The law is your own choice. You chose a cheap video service, you get
cheap parts. You choose any of the big cable companies and they give
you one over the counter no questions asked - or send a tech to
deliver one. Heck, the phone company doesn't even do that.

Put the crappy remote in a drawer and go out and buy a good one.

And, no - if a leased car breaks down, you fix it. If you don't
maintain a leased car reasonably you get a big bill at end of lease.

============

Don't know what company you're leasing from but the last four autos I
leased, although they came with a factory warranty (aside from the lease),
all maintenance and repairs were the responsibility of the lessee (me).
Therefore, all lubes, oil changes, etc. that are required are on my nickel,
not the leasing company nor the factory. This was true with my Honda,
Saturn and Ford. If the brakes went out beyond the standard car warranty,
that, too, would be my expense.

The bottom line from what you state, you seem to have a problem with
remotes -- either too hard on them or bad luck. The fact that both went out
for the same problem would indicate to me that you're too hard on them. Why
should Dish pay for your abuse?

Based on your other posts in this thread, I'm guessing you must be trolling.
Otherwise, you're simply retarded. What does this post have to do with
cable TV? Cable TV is not Dish Network. Go back to your trailerpark and
get off the free Internet access at the library.
