Someone mentioned in rec.arts.tv that one of the Houston cable systems
was carrying WDSU. I dropped a note to DirecTV suggesting that they do
the same, but I know the local stations rules are different for cable
and satellite, so I don't know that they can legally do it. Although
I can't really imagine any NBC affiliates in other markets complaining.
It isn't as though WDSU is running their normal NBC programming opposite
the other affiliates.

It's New Orleans Channel 4, WWL that's being broadcast on Channel 11-2
in Houston. WWL is using facilities in Baton Rouge LA, 65 miles west of
New Orleans.

That may be, but the report in r.a.tv was that WDSU is being carried
on Time-Warner cable.

Not everyone has HDTV, and not everyone has cable.

They could be another system, just not TWC in Houston. They are carrying
11-2 (WWL - a sister Belo station to 11/KHOU) on analog and digital
tiers.

Uh, yes. And your point is?

BTW, does KHOU really have two HD channels, or did you mean to
say that they're carrying WWL on their second digital channel?

Not everyone has HDTV, and not everyone has cable.

HDTV has nothing to do with things, just Digital OTA, of which most of
the refugees would likely not have access to, let alone TV.

Yes, some that actually got hotel rooms or are staying at people's homes
might be able to get these channels.
