Hi all,
I know I'm really fishing but...... I need to know the vhf modulator supply
voltage is and where it comes from. My System 70 was working fine until a
few weeks ago. The vhf modulator feeds a distant bedroom. It looks as if the
supply voltage is missing. The modulator "box" is different than the Tracker
V series, so all of the junk in the shed does me no good. The modulator is
labeled B,A,V,G. I'm gonna guess that it's B+, audio, video and ground.
Problem is I dunno what the proper supply voltage is.... The part that
really gets me is that the IRD works fine in every other aspect!
I know, just add an external modulator and be done. If I can "bypass" the
normal supply source and find another point with the same potential, I may
be back in the race.

Thanks all,
Michael

trace the circuit back and find the bad component.

I would if I had the time.
What I was really looking for is the operating voltage of the modulator. Not
hearing anything from the ng, I figured that 5vdc was a good place to start.
I cut the "B" wire free from the chassis connector and tied it to a 5vdc
output of the power supply. Bingo the modulator plays again.
