Fortunately I was finally able to get my new dish aliened. My old dish and receiver (General Instrument Innovation 450i) were configured for C-Band only. Now that I have the new dish with C and Ku hooked up I was expecting the Ku detection light on the front of the receiver to light up. Well it doesn't and I checked over everything I can think of. I found one setting in the setup configurations of the receiver that I changed from "C-Band" to "C and Ku bands" but still the light does not come on. The LNB has a LED on it and it IS lit telling me it's getting power.

Never having had Ku before how would I know if Ku is working or not. Each satellite has 24 channels; will there be more then 24 when Ku is working?

Thanks in advance for any help

~Ben

You are attempting to use the Innovation Series receiver with Ku-Band
right? I am not aware of much ANALOG fulltime programming on Ku-Band
anymore. If there is any Ku-Band analog left it is probably sports feeds
and an occasional spot feed from a news truck.
Most of the Ku-Band fulltime channels are DIGITAL either with a 4DTV
DC2 system,or on
Digital Video Broadcast (DVB) free-to-air.
They are both DIFFERENT digital transmission methods, and one kind of
channels cannot be received on the other's receiver.
At the very LEAST,you need to get a 4DTV add-on digital sidecar or
upgrade to a 4DTV receiver. You will not get much otherwise in my
opinion.

OK, real good feedback. Thank you.
I do have a 4D TV sidecar so I'll look around on it for a Ku signal. It will
be nice to see some comfrimation that it's actualy working.

P.S. I have a FTA "Pansat 2700s" on order and expect to have it in a week.
