Garmin 2610 waypoints

My Street Pilot 3 would list waypoints alphabetically and I could select
them by selecting the letters in order in the name. Once I got used to
this I could do it quickly.

I noticed that the 2610 lists waypoints by distance from the current
location. Is there anyway for me to find waypoints by name like in the
SP3?

When you are on the Waypoints page, press Menu and select "Find by Name."
What is probably highlighted on your unit is "Find nearest." I have a 76CS
so am not certain that the 2610 is the same.

Yes, it is the same and gives you the same options...
