There was a lot wrong with that feed. Mostly sound drops when they
returned from black. The end credits were full of video noise and there
was a sound drop at the end. I have seen them stop feeds for hits so
minor that you can hardly notice them. If this goes out again, it will
probably be in the afternoon.
I was glancing at big ben when doing my checks, and it is about 1.5
minutes slow. Since I was going by that, I missed the beginning. I also
had to switch to 19 and set the sound. By that time, I had missed at
least 2 minutes. But I can fix that with what I snake off of the air.
I will have to set the timer for Medium. If it doesn't run at the same
time as last season, then I will be screwed. Both CSI:Miami and Medium
are on at the same time. I guess I can grab the first part of CSI:Miami
with the DishNet HDD. That will keep it digital. For 2 minutes, I can
stand the local feed compression.
Too many shows on at the same time this year. I am going to have to
drop something. I don't think I'll be wacthing Las Vegas at all. I just
don't have the time even if I record it on VHS as time-shift.

Looks like will have to make a new tape to fix the problem. All the bad
spots were at the edit insert points of each segment. The beginning and
the end points were flawed on each segment including the first segment. I
just went back and looked to be sure. They must have had a bad machine or
a newbie doing the edits.
I doubt they will send it tonight. But maybe they have some fast editors
and can wip up a new tape in a hurry. Woops they just went of the air. So
tomorrow there may be another feed.

Hi Lee,
I don't think they were early. It started as noted on the screen at
02:00:30 by my watch. I just checked the frame counter and it was right on
time. Is your clock slow? Sorry you missed the beginning.

Where the heck are my replies. I think this Google news thing is a
little slow. I don't even remember what I said now.
The first 5 minutes of the CSI:Miami Premiere is at their web site. I
checked it with a stop watch and I missed 1 min and 40 sec. I don't
know if I can live without that!
I am setting the timer for MEDIUM. With any luck, it will be at the
same spot and time (IA6/24 at 1300). If not, It will be off of the air
for that show. I can make it work using my DishNet HDD recorder.
That's all for now. This might even get posted some day.
